FIELD NOTES

Straight answers from people who live here

Camps in the Delta are unfenced, so animals walk through at night. After dark a guide walks you to your room, and in the day you stay with your guide on drives, walks and mokoro trips. Listen to the briefing on day one and you will feel completely at ease.

Northern Botswana is a malaria area, so see a travel doctor before you go. Take good travel insurance with medical evacuation; it is rarely needed, but the camps are remote.

Booking terms (summary)

You book through Unearth Botswana, a licensed Botswana travel agency. Prices are each lodge's own published rates. A 30% deposit secures most bookings, and the balance is due before travel on the date shown in your account. Changes and cancellations follow the terms of each lodge or operator, shown before you pay. Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is required. Read the full Booking Terms and Conditions.

Privacy (summary)

We use your details only to plan and deliver your trip, and share them only with the lodges, guides and transfer companies on your itinerary. Card payments are handled by DPO Pay; your card details never reach Unearth. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time: info@unearthbotswana.co.bw. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Partner terms (summary)

Listing is free. Partners show guests their normal published rate and give Unearth a private trade (STO) rate, or one price with an agreed commission. Unearth collects guest payments and pays partners on the agreed dates. Trade rates stay private between the partner and Unearth. Partners confirm they own or may use every photo they upload.
